Drivers in 12 Traffic-Tangled Cities Can Save Time with Free TrafficGauge for PC Download

SEATTLEMarch 01, 2006 — Today the company that launched the first Òmobile traffic mapÓ in the U.S., TrafficGauge Inc., announced another first: downloadable traffic maps for computer desktops. Real-time traffic maps for Atlanta, Chicago, Denver Los Angeles/Orange County, Minneapolis, Orange County/Inland Empire (California), Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Seattle are now available at www.trafficgauge.com.

California), Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Seattle are now available at www.trafficgauge.com. ÒStarting today drivers can instantly view a real-time traffic map with a single mouse click,Ó reports Eric Meyer, CEO, TrafficGauge. ÒSo before commuters do battle with freeway traffic, with one glance at their computer screen they can see where the jams are and pick a quicker route.Ó

The companyÕs hand-held TrafficGauge Mobile Traffic Map¨ device was introduced to Seattle in 2003, to Los Angeles in 2004 and most recently to the San Francisco Bay Area in November 2005. Delivering real-time traffic conditions wirelessly anytime and anywhere, the TrafficGauge Mobile Traffic Map saves commuters the time and frustration of being stuck in traffic -- users report saving on average more than eight hours a month. Chicago will be the next market to benefit from the device with a planned introduction later this year. ÒThe portable TrafficGauge device is still the best way to outsmart traffic from the driverÕs seats by pinpointing gridlocked areas,Ó says Meyer.

ÒNothing beats having a real-time update delivered into the car, but with TrafficGauge for PC users can view traffic from their home or office computer and have a birds-eye view of conditions before they hit the road.Ó

TrafficGauge for PC enables users to view traffic with just one click of a ÒTÓ icon on the computer desktop. Like the hand-held device, TrafficGauge for PC is automatically updated 24/7. TrafficGauge receives its traffic flow data via partnerships with public agencies and private companies that use wire loop, radar, or toll tag sensors to measure traffic speeds. TrafficGauge processes traffic flow data from these sources, dynamically selecting the best available data. Traffic data is then delivered over a wireless network to mobile traffic maps and over the internet to computer desktops.
